2 and 4-incision Radial Keratotomy.
|
Patients who have undergone prior radial keratotomy for low myopia can usually have the cornea measured prior to cataract surgery by direct methods.
The historical method following radial keratotomy may contain certain pitfalls, as many of these patients have an ongoing hyperopic shift, which may be partially masked by increasing lenticula myopia.

We have found that for patients who have undergone 2 and 4-incision radial keratotomy, direct measurements using the the ORBSCAN II, the average of the 1.0 mm and the 2.0 mm rings of the Numerical View of the Zeiss Atlas Topographer, or the Effective Refractive Power (EffRP) from the Holladay Diagnostic Summary of the EyeSys Corneal Analysis System seem to work well.
